Community Guidelines

HyLokal is where people share what is happening around them, buy and sell, and find events nearby. These rules keep it safe and useful for everyone, everywhere. They apply to posts, Pulse videos, comments, messages, shop listings, events and profiles.

1. Be real

• Post what you saw and captured yourself. Don't pretend to be another person, brand or organisation.
• No fake accounts, fake reviews, or buying and selling of followers or likes.
• Don't post things you know are false to mislead people, such as fake emergencies, road reports or news.

2. Respect people

• No harassment, bullying, threats or attacks on someone for who they are (race, religion, nationality, gender, sexuality, disability or age).
• No hate speech and no support for violent or hateful groups.
• Tag and mention people respectfully. Anyone can untag themselves or block you.

3. Protect privacy

• Don't share someone else's private information: home address, phone number, ID or bank details, or private messages, without their consent.
• Don't post photos or videos of people in private places without their permission.
• Keep yourself safe too: check photos for house numbers and car plates before posting, and use Private places to hide the exact spot of posts taken at home, work or school.

4. Keep it safe for everyone

• No nudity or sexual content. Any sexual content involving anyone under 18 is removed, the account is banned, and we report it to the authorities.
• No graphic violence, gore or content that encourages self-harm. If you or someone you know is struggling, please contact local emergency services.
• No dangerous challenges or content that encourages unsafe driving.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use HyLokal.

5. Buy, sell and promote honestly

• Sell only things you are allowed to sell where you live. No weapons, drugs, counterfeit goods, stolen items, animals protected by law, or anything illegal.
• Describe products, prices and delivery honestly. No scams, fake giveaways or requests to pay outside HyLokal to avoid buyer protection.
• When you earn commission from a product in your post, HyLokal shows it on the product tag. Don't hide paid promotion.
• Events must be real, with honest dates, places and ticket details.

6. No spam

• No repeated posts, comments or messages, chain messages, or links that trick people.
• Use HyLokal Ads or Promote to reach more people, not spam.

7. Respect other people's work

• Post only content you own or have the right to share. Music, videos, photos and brand logos may be protected.

8. Reporting

If something breaks these rules, tap Report: on a post (menu ⋯), on a comment, on a profile (menu ⋯) or in a chat (menu ⋯). Reports are private: the person won't know who reported them. Our team reviews every report. You can also block anyone at any time.

9. What happens when rules are broken

Depending on how serious it is, we may remove the content, limit features, suspend the account or ban it for good. Serious harm, such as threats or content that sexualises children, leads to an immediate ban and may be reported to the authorities. Repeated breaks lead to stronger action.
